Eligibility Criteria

• Educational Qualification: Bachelor’s degree in any discipline from a recognized university.

• Age Limit: 20 to 30 years as of 01.07.2025

  • Age relaxation applicable for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD and other reserved categories as per government norms.

IBPS PO/MT Recruitment 2025 – Selection Process

The selection process for IBPS PO/MT 2025 consists of three main stages:

1. Preliminary Examination

• This is the first stage and serves as a screening test.

• It’s an online objective exam consisting of 100 questions for 100 marks.

• The duration is 1 hour (20 minutes per section).

• Candidates must clear sectional cut-offs and an overall cut-off decided by IBPS.

• Marks scored in the Preliminary Exam are not counted in the final merit list.

2. Main Examination

Candidates who qualify in the Prelims appear for the Mains, which has two parts:

Part A – Objective Test

Part B – Descriptive Paper

• English Language (Letter Writing & Essay)

• Total Marks: 25

• Duration: 30 minutes

• Conducted online; candidates type their answers.

✅ Note:

• There is a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in both Prelims and Mains (objective parts).

• Candidates must clear sectional and overall cut-offs to qualify for the interview.

3. Interview

• Conducted by participating banks in coordination with IBPS.

• Total Marks: 100

• Minimum qualifying marks:

  • 40% for General candidates

  • 35% for SC/ST/OBC/PwBD candidates

• The interview assesses:

  • Banking awareness

  • Communication skills

  • Personality traits

Final Selection

• Final merit is prepared based on Main Exam (objective + descriptive) marks and Interview in the following ratio:

  • Mains Exam: 80% weightage

  • Interview: 20% weightage

• Marks from the Preliminary Exam are not included in the final merit list.

Shortlisted candidates will have to produce originals and copies of:

• Educational certificates

• ID proofs

• Caste/Category certificates (if applicable)

• Disability certificates (if applicable)

• Experience certificates (if any)

• Other documents as required by participating banks
