SSC JE 2025 – Selection Process in Detail

The selection process for the SSC Junior Engineer (JE) Recruitment 2025 consists of the following stages:

1. Paper-I (Computer-Based Examination)

• Mode: Online (Objective Type)

• Total Marks: 200

• Total Questions: 200

• Duration: 2 hours

Paper-I Exam Pattern

• Each question carries 1 mark.

• Negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer.

2. Paper-II (Conventional/Descriptive Type)

• Mode: Pen and Paper (Written Exam)

• Total Marks: 300

• Duration: 2 hours

Paper-II Subjects

• Part A: General Engineering (Civil & Structural) OR

• Part B: General Engineering (Electrical) OR

• Part C: General Engineering (Mechanical)

Note:

• Candidates have to appear for Paper-II in the branch they chose in Paper-I.

• The paper is descriptive and tests engineering concepts and problem-solving ability.

3. Document Verification (DV)

Candidates who qualify both Paper-I and Paper-II will be called for Document Verification, where original certificates and documents will be checked. Documents required may include:

• Educational qualification certificates (Diploma/Degree)

• Date of Birth proof

• Category certificate (if applicable)

• PwD certificate (if applicable)

• Photo identity proof

• Other relevant documents

4. Final Selection

• Final merit will be prepared based on the aggregate marks obtained in Paper-I and Paper-II.

• Posts will be allotted based on merit, preferences filled by candidates, and availability of vacancies.
